Almost half-an-hour before its interval point, Vizhithiru begins to remind one of Maanagaram, though the situations, characters and the issues dealt with are quite different. The actor absolutely shows no inhibition in the climax, which is a revelation. The first half is tight with a smooth flowing screenplay with the tension of horror and suspense building into a crescendo. He populates this world with colourful characters, like an underling who gets too emotional, roadside Romeos Yogi Babu is in form here who is a subtle dig at the stalker-ish heroes of Tamil cinema, a drug dealer who likes to use cringe-worthy metaphors, and so on. And we get underwritten characters, a villain who fumes and plots but never acts, unintentionally hilarious mass moments like the scenes with reference to the president , cringe-worthy romance, patience-testing songs by Devi Sri Prasad, who takes over from Harris Jayaraj , and comedy by Soori that is as fun as nails on chalkboard.
The flashback of the ghosts is a big let down. The graphics and prosthetic work leaves a lot to be desired. A turn of unexpected events forces Muthukumar to take up a driving assignment before he can catch his train. The romance and chemistry between Siddharth and Andrea is lively. Her sister is a college-goer while her mother Saranya Ponvannan , a strong-willed, practical housewife, is the one who runs the show in this house.
